Thanks for the link Kim. I edited the link so that others can click on it and be directed to the site. The writer and director of Food Inc. is the source of the "corn is bad for cows" statement. He has a lot of influence so there will be a lot of people taking his word for it.

I still feel strongly that most people can at least start a small backyard garden or find affordable ways to get locally grown foods.

I'll be in touch.

Courtney,

I agree that we need to strive to eat healthier but I disagree with some of the information that you have posted. For example "It is silly to feed corn to cows when corn is bad for cows" Corn is NOT bad for cows. I also think it is great for people to plant their own garden and support local farmer's markets if they have the resources available. But for everyone to be able to do that is not realistic. I am posting a link that addresses some of your concerns and give an agricultural point of view. Please read with the same open mind that you accepted this other information. If you have any additional questions feel free to contact me or Brian. http://www.safefoodinc.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=3&Itemid=11

Aaron, this particular post was geared towards those in the midst of an intense fat-loss effort. I'm basically in a maintenance phase. As long as my energy levels are high and my body-fat level is healthy I do not eat near as strict as
I suggest. But if you really want to lose some body-fat or increase energy levels then cleaning up your diet is a high priority.

A lot of the things I suggest are just best during a focused fat-loss season of life. The time varies from person to person but it's usually as little as 6 weeks all the way up to a year. Simply be mindful of your nutrition most of the time as you'll be fine.

I believe you 100%, just can't live it. As you well know since you "caught" me today at Panera with cinnamon roll cumbs on my face--and yes that was half and half in my coffee...

I know you are right. I watch my daughter, the Vegan, cook all her meals at home. I hate to cook. But you can easily eat a piece of fruit, some nuts, some healthy food for breakfast and lunch without much trouble. Ok, I did cook a really healthy meal for us for dinner tonight. Keep the ideas coming. I will try hard to do this. ( Not for as long a time as you suggested.)
